Privacy Policy
Effective date: 19 July 2026
The short version
DrillGround does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. There are no accounts, no logins, and no tracking. Your self-assessment and your Tailboard reflections are saved on your own device and are never sent anywhere — not to us, not to your department, not to anyone.
What the app does
DrillGround shows a library of fire-service training drills. The drill content is bundled with the app. Reading a drill happens entirely on your device.
You can also rate yourself across a handful of training areas, and the app will suggest drills based on those answers. That happens on your device too — the app does the picking itself and asks no server.
Information we collect
- No personal information.
- No account or contact details — the app has no sign-up.
- No location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers.
- No analytics or advertising trackers.
What is stored on your device
If you complete a self-assessment, the app saves your answers in your browser's local storage, on your device. That is:
- How you rated yourself in each training area.
- Which specialty areas you turned on.
- Whether you train alone, with one other, or with a crew, and how much time you have.
- Your Tailboard reflections — which drill or call you logged, how you felt it went, and any note you chose to write.
This never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and neither can your department. It is stored so the app can remember your answers between visits rather than asking again every time.
To delete it: use "Clear my assessment" on the assessment screen, delete any individual Tailboard entry from the Tailboard screen, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. Uninstalling the app removes it as well. There is nothing to delete on our side, because we never had a copy.
We deliberately keep this on your device. An honest self-assessment is only useful if it is private — you should be able to tell this app you are shaky on something without that going on a record anywhere.
About Tailboard reflections
A reflection you write after a call is a note to yourself. It is not an after-action report, it is not a training record, and there is no way to share or export it — deliberately. Nothing in this app reports to a supervisor, an officer, or a department.
Please keep reflections about your own performance. You do not need to name anyone, and you should not record patient details or anything identifying about the people on a call. The value of a reflection is what it tells you about what to train next.
Any entry can be deleted individually from the Tailboard screen.
Working offline
Separately from anything you enter, the app caches its own files — the drill library and the app itself — so it still works in a bay or a stairwell with no signal. Those are our files, not your data. They never leave your device and are removed if you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Children's privacy
DrillGround is a professional training tool and is not directed to children. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.

There is nothing for us to delete on request, because nothing you enter ever reaches us — your assessment and Tailboard reflections stay on your own device. To remove them, clear this site's data in your browser or uninstall the app.
